Stella Heine, APNP-CNP

Stella Heine is an adult gerontology nurse practitioner, providing primary, preventative, and acute care for patients 18 and older through SLUCare General Internal Medicine. She specializes in women's health, gastrointestinal issues, nutrition counseling, lifestyle modifications, nephrology, diabetes, hypertension, and wound care. She also specializes in geriatric medicine, offering geriatric assessments, geriatric polypharmacy counseling, and fall prevention education.

Heine's primary objective is to make a positive impact on her patients and help improve their quality of life. She provides a safe, nonjudgmental space; listening intently to concerns; offering guidance; and encouraging them to play an active role in their health care. She also works to identify the root cause of a patient's medical issue to determine the best treatment.

Heine is a member of the American Association of Nurse Practitioners.

Before working in health care, Heine earned an undergraduate degree in music performance and is a classically trained double bassist.
