The Society of Hospital Medicine defines a hospitalist as a physician who delivers comprehensive medical care to acutely ill, hospitalized patients. Dr. Keniesha Thompson is a hospitalist who manages care for adult patients at SSM Health Saint Louis University Hospital. Her additional areas of expertise include patient safety, quality improvement, resident and medical education.

Dr. Thompson is an assistant professor of hospital medicine at Saint Louis University School of Medicine. Her research interests include physician-patient communication, patient safety and medical education.

She is a member of the Society of Hospital Medicine.

Dr. Thompson enjoys practicing in St. Louis because of its cultural diversity and the ability to care for medically underserved groups. When she's not working, Dr. Thompson enjoys traveling.
