Joseph Silhavy, MD

Dr. Joseph "Joe" Silhavy is a pediatrician who provides care for infants, children, adolescents, and young adults. He sees patients from birth through 21 years of age and provides care to families throughout Southern Illinois.

Dr. Silhavy offers comprehensive pediatric healthcare, including routine preventive care, diagnosis and treatment of childhood illnesses, developmental and behavioral support, adolescent healthcare, chronic condition management, and coordination of care with specialists when needed. He also places a strong emphasis on parent education and guidance, helping families feel informed and confident as their children grow and develop. His special interests include preventive medicine, monitoring growth and development, and ensuring seamless coordination of care for children with complex needs.

As a pediatrician, Dr. Silhavy is dedicated to providing compassionate, comprehensive care that supports the physical, emotional, and developmental health of children from birth to young adulthood. He believes in partnering closely with families to promote wellness, prevent disease, and help every child reach their full potential. His approach is rooted in evidence-based, family-centered care, with a focus on building long-term relationships based on trust, respect, and advocacy for children's health.

Dr. Silhavy is a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics and is actively involved in community outreach through his service on the Board of Directors for Kellsie's Hope Foundation, a charity that provides support to children with cancer and their families.

Outside of the clinic, Dr. Silhavy participates in run Disney races, including 5Ks, 10Ks, and half marathons, using these events to fundraise for Kellsie's Hope Foundation and raise awareness of childhood cancer.
