Kelsey Rowe, MD Pediatrics, Hospitalist, Infectious Disease in St. Louis, MO

Dr. Kelsey Rowe is a fellowship-trained pediatric infectious diseases specialist who cares for patients from newborns through 18 years of age throughout the St. Louis metropolitan area. She provides inpatient pediatric hospital medicine evaluations, infectious disease consultations, and hospital follow-up care.

Dr. Rowe's medical interests include infection prevention, quality improvement research, and vaccine advocacy. Guided by her mission to improve the health of children and the broader community, she is committed to preventing infections, promoting vaccination, and advancing high-value, evidence-based, and sustainable care while continuously seeking innovative ways to improve healthcare quality and patient outcomes.

Her research interests include infection prevention, quality improvement research, high-value care, vaccine advocacy, and sustainability. Dr. Rowe developed electronic health record reporting tools to improve infection prevention isolation practices and participated in the Pediatric Infectious Diseases Society (PIDS) Vaccine Advocacy Fellowship Program, where she received media training and additional education focused on vaccine advocacy.

Dr. Rowe is an assistant professor in the Department of Pediatrics at Saint Louis University School of Medicine, with appointments in the Division of Pediatric Infectious Diseases and the Division of Pediatric Hospital Medicine.

Besides her medical practice, Dr. Rowe is the author of two children's books that explain how vaccines work through superhero characters. Using grant funding associated with the PIDS fellowship, she has donated the books to clinics throughout St. Louis and other regions to help educate children and families about the importance of vaccines.
