Shih-Kuang Hong, MD

Shih-Kuang Sam Hong, M.D.,MSCI, gastroenterologist, is board-certified specializing in the diagnosis and treatment of a wide range of conditions that affect all areas of the digestive tract. Driven by the values instilled in him by his faith and family, he is passionate about helping people heal and achieve their highest quality of life.

Dr. Hong received a bachelor's degree in biochemistry from the University of Michigan, and he graduated from Vanderbilt University School of Medicine. He then completed an internal medicine residency at Washington University in St. Louis and subsequently returned to Vanderbilt to train in gastroenterology. While at Vanderbilt, Dr. Hong also obtained a Master of Science in Clinical Investigation. Additionally, he completed an Advanced Endoscopy fellowship focused on Endoscopic Retrograde Cholangiopancreatography and Endoscopic Ultrasound at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital in Philadelphia. Dr. Hong has previous experience at SSM Health St. Anthony Hospital, where he served as Medical Director of Endoscopy for three years. He is passionate about sharing his knowledge in scientific publications and manuscripts. He has also been featured in 405 Magazine's 'Top Doctor's List.'

When not caring for his patients, Dr. Hong enjoys playing tennis and cheering for the Oklahoma City Thunder at basketball games with his family. He enjoys working with the other talented gastroenterologists at SSM Health Medical Group, improving the gastrointestinal health of Oklahomans. His philosophy is to treat every patient as if they are his family or friends and to help them make an informed decision for their health.
