Shannon Bast, PA-C

Shannon Bast, PA-C is a structural heart coordinator who cares for adult patients. Shannon sees patients throughout the St. Louis metropolitan area.

As a member of a multidisciplinary heart team, Shannon helps guide patients with advanced heart valve disease through their treatment options, including open heart surgery, minimally invasive procedures, and medical management. Shannon works closely with cardiac surgeons and interventional cardiologists to ensure each patient understands their condition and feels supported.

Shannon strives to clearly explain heart conditions and treatment plans, answer questions, and help patients feel informed. She strives to treat every patient with the same respect, attention, and compassion that would be expected for loved ones.

Shannon believes that while valve repair or replacement cannot solve every health concern, these treatments often lead to meaningful improvements in fatigue, chest discomfort, leg swelling, and shortness of breath. These improvements can help patients stay out of the hospital, increase daily activity, and enjoy a better quality of life.

Outside of the clinic, Shannon is deeply committed to serving marginalized communities. Through community outreach, charitable organizations, and medical mission trips to Central and South America, Shannon remains dedicated to making a meaningful difference in the lives of others.
