Rajesh Kanagala, MD

Rajesh Kanagala, MD, a board-certified gastroenterologist, provides care for adults in the diagnosis and treatment of a wide range of conditions that affect all areas of the digestive tract. He joins an exceptional team of gastroenterology experts, dedicated to partnering with patients in their care and committed to working together to develop a personalized plan for optimal treatment, health and wellbeing.

Dr. Kanagala received his bachelor's and medical degrees in India before completing an internal medicine internship at New York-Presbyterian Brooklyn Methodist Hospital in Brooklyn, N.Y. and a residency at the Medical College of Wisconsin in Milwaukee, Wis. Dr. Kanagala also completed a gastroenterology fellowship from the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center. Prior to joining SSM Health, Dr. Kanagala has provided care to Oklahomans for nearly two decades. He has been published multiple times for his studies. Dr. Kanagala also has experience teaching medical students at the University of Oklahoma College of Medicine.

Dr. Kanagala is a member of the American Association for the Study of Liver Disease, the American College of Gastroenterology, the American Gastroenterology Association and the American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy. He is fluent in English, Hindi and Telugu.

Dr. Kanagala's specialties include colonoscopy, esophagogastroduodenoscopy, hepatitis C treatment, gastroesophageal reflux disease and pancreas and biliary tract disorder. Dr. Kanagala also has extensive experience in hepatology, helping patients with complications of chronic liver diseases.

When not caring for his patients, Dr. Kanagala is active at his church and enjoys helping with their free clinic for community members in need.
