Dr. Nirmal Veeramachaneni is a thoracic surgeon who offers surgical treatment for cancerous and non-cancerous diseases of the chest. He has particular expertise in single-incision, minimally invasive treatment for lung cancer. In addition, he offers disease management for esophageal cancer and esophageal disorders.

Dr. Veeramachaneni's research interests include standardization of care and improving outcomes for lung cancer surgery.

Dr. Veeramachaneni is a professor in the Department of Surgery, Division of Cardiothoracic Surgery, at Saint Louis University School of Medicine.

He is vice chair of the operative standards committee of the American College of Surgeons, a member of the editorial board of The Journal of Thoracic and Cardiovascular Surgery, and a member of the executive board of the General Thoracic Surgery Club.
