Matthew Johnson, MD

Dr. Matthew Johnson is a board-certified radiation oncologist who provides comprehensive care for patients ages 18 and older. He brings advanced training in cutting-edge technologies and image-guided therapies, with expertise in 3D-conformal radiation therapy (3D-CRT), intensity modulated radiation therapy (IMRT), image-guided radiotherapy (IGRT), stereotactic body radiotherapy (SBRT), stereotactic radiosurgery (SRS), and brachytherapy. His clinical focus includes cancers of the breast, lung, prostate, gastrointestinal tract, head and neck, as well as lymphoma.

Dr. Johnson is deeply committed to patient education, striving to make complex diagnoses and treatment options understandable and approachable. He prioritizes building meaningful relationships with his patients and delivers personalized, evidence-based care that reflects both compassion and clinical excellence.

He is affiliated with the American Society for Radiation Oncology and the American Brachytherapy Society. His honors include the Lynn Sage Breast Cancer Achievement Award, the American Radium Society Young Oncologist Award, and recognition as a Castle Connolly "Top Doctor" and St. Louis Magazine "Best Doctor." He frequently presents at international oncology conferences and has co-authored research published in leading journals such as JCO, JAMA, JNCCN, and Practical Radiation Oncology.

Having personally undergone radiation treatment for cancer during medical school, Dr. Johnson brings a unique perspective and empathy to his practice. Outside of medicine, he enjoys spending time with family, mountain biking, photography, SCUBA diving, traveling, and woodworking.
