Katie Schaefer, APRN-CNP

Katie Schaefer, AGPCNP-BC, is an adult-gerontology nurse practitioner, who specializes in diagnosing and treating digestive disorders in adult patients ages 18 and older. Her areas of expertise include gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), and ulcerative colitis (UC).

As a patient-centered practitioner, Katie takes the time to get to know her patients, so she can better understand their needs and provide the proper care to address their medical issues. She coordinates care management with her colleagues to ensure her patients receive an accurate diagnosis, optimum treatment, and ongoing support to help them navigate better navigate their condition and improve quality of life.

Prior to specializing in adult-gerontology, Katie worked as a registered nurse in cardiac rehab, cardiothoracic care, and geriatrics. She also has extensive experience caring for critically ill patients in a hospital setting.
