Isma Javed, MD

Isma Nusrat Javed, MD, FACP, FACC, RPVI, FSCAI cares for the heart and vascular health of adults in Shawnee, Okla. and surrounding communities. Board certified in multiple disciplines, she offers patients surgical and non-surgical treatments for a variety of cardiological conditions, including but not limited to cardiac catheterization, cardiac CT imaging, coronary and peripheral stent placement, echocardiography, nuclear cardiology, peripheral vascular disease management and more, always placing an emphasis on preventive care, when possible.

Although she knew from childhood she wanted to be a physician, Dr. Javed fell in love with cardiology during residency, and at the time of graduation was awarded for her research. Her passion for learning about the latest updates in her field has not faltered while in professional practice, as she has participated and presented in all national cardiology conferences and was selected as the pilot cardiology fellow among her peers for ABIM/ACC competency-based education pilot in Internal Medicine-Cardiology.

Dr. Javed thrives when caring for patients one-on-one and believes the patient-doctor relationship is the foundation of health care. She follows a patient-first philosophy that centers on careful listening and well-informed decision-making. She enjoys working with patients and their families to formulate accurate diagnoses, navigate complex decisions and determine a care plan and any lifestyle modifications that will help promote each patient's highest possible quality of life.

Dr. Javed holds the following certifications in addition to other industry recognitions and professional memberships: ABIM Cardiovascular Disease certification, ABIM Interventional Cardiology certification, American Board of Internal Medicine certification, National Board of Echocardiography/Examination of Special Competence in Adult Echocardiography (ASCeXAM), Certification Board of Cardiovascular Computed Tomography (CBCCT) and Certification Board of Nuclear Cardiology (CBNC). She is also a Registered Physician in Vascular Interpretation (RPVI).
