Emily Smith, MD

Dr. Emily Smith is a dermatologist and dermatopathologist who cares for children and adults. She offers general dermatology services and performs skin exams and skin cancer screenings. She has expertise in the diagnosis and management of high-risk skin cancer (including melanoma, squamous cell carcinoma, and Merkel cell carcinoma), skin cancer in immunosuppressed patients, pigmented skin lesions, and skin toxicities associated with anti-cancer therapies. She runs a supportive oncodermatology and cutaneous oncology clinic at the cancer center.

As a dermatopathologist, Dr. Smith plays a pivotal role in the skin pathology process, receiving a patient's biopsied skin specimen, examining the tissue, and then making the official diagnosis.

Dr. Smith's research interests include melanoma, pigmented skin lesions, high-risk/complex cutaneous oncology, supportive oncodermatology, and clinicopathologic correlation.

Dr. Smith is an associate professor with the Division of Dermatology in the Department of Dermatology at Saint Louis University School of Medicine.
