Dr. Douglas Matijakovich is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon with fellowship training in sports medicine. He cares for adolescent and adult athletes, as well as patients experiencing pain or injuries that affect movement. Dr. Matijakovich sees patients throughout the St. Louis metropolitan area.

He treats conditions involving the shoulder, wrist, elbow, hip, knee, and ankle, offering both non-surgical and surgical options for injuries to tendons, ligaments, bones, and muscles around the joints. His primary areas of focus are the shoulder and knee, and his research has explored innovative treatments for shoulder instability and anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) reconstruction.

Dr. Matijakovich values the dynamic nature of sports medicine and enjoys caring for athletes across a variety of team sports. While living in New York, he served as a team physician for the New York Jets, ASA College, and the US Open Tennis Championship.

He is an active member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, the American Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine, and the Missouri State Medical Association.
