Caitlin Ramirez, APRN-CNP General Surgery, Nurse Practitioner, Urology in Oklahoma City, OK

Caitlin Ramirez, AGAC-NP, RNFA, decided to pursue a career in medicine due to her desire to make a meaningful, positive impact on people's lives. She values the opportunity to combine helping others with lifelong learning while supporting patients during some of their most challenging moments. Caitlin provides compassionate care for general surgery patients alongside SSM Health Medical Group surgeons in midtown Oklahoma City.

Caitlin began her education journey at Copper Mountain College in Joshua Tree, Calif., where she earned an associate degree. She then completed an Associate Degree in Nursing at Oklahoma City Community College and a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Southwestern Oklahoma State University in Weatherford, Okla.

With 16 years of experience caring for surgical patients in Oklahoma, Caitlin brings extensive knowledge and expertise to her new role. Throughout her career, she has served as a circulator nurse, scrub nurse and first assistant, caring for patients before, during and after surgery. Caitlin spent the past eight years with SSM Health Medical Group as a Certified Registered Nurse First Assistant, providing patient care before, during and after surgery while working closely with SSM Health Medical Group surgeons. She also has experience serving patients in the emergency departments at SSM Health St. Anthony locations. Caitlin has over a decade of experience assisting with surgical procedures using robotic surgical systems.

After years of working alongside SSM Health providers and staff as a nurse, Caitlin was inspired by their expertise, teamwork and commitment to exceptional patient care, making her transition to an advanced practice provider role with SSM Health Medical Group a natural fit.

Caitlin's patient care philosophy is rooted in the core principles of nursing: compassion, advocacy, respect and patient-centered care. She believes in taking the time to listen to patients, understand their concerns and build trusting relationships.

Originally from California, Caitlin moved to Oklahoma in 2007 through military service and has proudly called Oklahoma home ever since, raising her two children in the community. She also serves as a Major in the U.S. Air Force Reserve and has dedicated eight years to military service.
