Olusegun Owotomo, MD, PhD

Dr. Olusegun Owotomo, is a pediatric pulmonologist in St. Louis who provides expert care for children from newborns to age 18 with a wide range of acute and chronic lung conditions.

Dr. Owotomo specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of pediatric respiratory disorders, including asthma, chronic cough, bronchitis, wheezing, vocal cord dysfunction, cystic fibrosis, recurrent pneumonia, and pulmonary complications related to sickle cell disease. He also manages complex conditions such as bronchopulmonary dysplasia (BPD), congenital airway and lung disorders, severe and difficult-to-treat asthma, and tracheostomy/ventilator-dependence. His practice includes advanced diagnostic techniques such as flexible bronchoscopy, pulmonary function testing, lung volume and diffusion assessments, and exhaled nitric oxide measurements.

His research focuses on asthma epidemiology, particularly early-life origins, modifiable risk factors like tobacco use, obesity, and air pollution, and patterns of asthma-related healthcare utilization. Dr. Owotomo is an assistant professor in the Department of Pediatrics, Division of Pediatric Pulmonary Medicine at Saint Louis University School of Medicine. He is a member of the American Academy of Pediatrics, the American Thoracic Society, and the Society for Research on Nicotine and Tobacco.
