Fernando Medina Carbonell, MD

Dr. Fernando Medina Carbonell treats children with a variety of gastrointestinal conditions, including inflammatory bowel disease (Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis), eosinophilic esophagitis, Celiac disease, and polyposis syndromes which increase risk for formation of polyps in the digestive tract.

Dr. Medina Carbonell's research interests include medical education, inflammatory bowel disease and quality improvement in pediatric gastrointestinal endoscopy.

He is an assistant professor in the Department of Pediatrics, Division of Gastroenterology, at Saint Louis University School of Medicine.

Dr. Medina Carbonell is a fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics and a member of the American Gastroenterological Association, North American Society of Pediatric Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition (NASPGHAN), and American Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy.
