Dr. Daiji Takajo is a pediatric cardiologist and pediatric interventional cardiologist who cares for infants, children, adolescents, and adults. He sees patients throughout the St. Louis metropolitan area and provides comprehensive pediatric cardiology care, with a special focus on diagnosing and treating congenital heart disease through cardiac catheterization.

Dr. Takajo uses advanced catheter-based techniques to diagnose and treat congenital heart disease, including transcatheter device closure, balloon angioplasty and stent implantation, and transcatheter pulmonary valve replacement. He is committed to helping patients and families understand their heart conditions and treatment options while providing compassionate, individualized care.

Dr. Takajo is an assistant professor in the Department of Pediatrics, Division of Pediatric Cardiology at Saint Louis University School of Medicine. He is a member of the American Academy of Pediatrics and the Society for Cardiovascular Angiography & Interventions.

Originally from Japan, Dr. Takajo completed medical training in both Japan and the United States. He believes that experiencing two different health care systems has shaped how he communicates with and cares for children and families from diverse backgrounds, helping him provide thoughtful, patient-centered care.
