Dr. William "Will" Mitchell is board-certified in family medicine and sports medicine. He provides preventive care for busy first responders through the SSM Health Medical Group Executive Health program, offering an efficient yet comprehensive approach to managing the health care needs of those with demanding schedules. His special medical interests include sports medicine and preventive care, with a focus on helping patients stay healthy, active, and performing at their best.
Dr. Mitchell believes in helping people remain as active as possible for as long as possible. He strives to combine SSM Health's mission, "to reveal the healing presence of God," with the American College of Sports Medicine's motto, "Exercise is the best medicine," to support patients in achieving long-term health and wellness.
He is a member of the American Academy of Family Physicians, the American College of Sports Medicine, and the American Medical Society for Sports Medicine.
Outside of medicine, Dr. Mitchell enjoys playing guitar and bass guitar with the band at his church. He also looks forward to dusting off his tuba each year to participate in St. Louis TubaChristmas at Anheuser-Busch.

He was really nice, knew what he was talking about, and made sure I understood everything he was informing me about before moving onto the next thing

He's great! I've been to him twice now in moments of much vulnerability and in lots of pain, and he has always made me feel better about it and helped me not feel like a burden whatsoever. I've had negative experiences with providers before, but I know I do not have to worry about this with Dr. Mitchell.
