Vanesa Botsford, MD

Vanesa Botsford is board certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology and is practicing in neurology specializing in movement disorders including Parkinson disease and Huntington disease. She obtained her undergraduate degrees in radiation therapy/biology and in biomedical science/chemistry from the University of Wisconsin in La Crosse, WI. She earned her medical degree from the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health in Madison, WI. Dr. Botsford completed her internship in internal medicine and her residency in neurology at the University of Virginia in Charlottesville, VA. She completed her fellowship in movement disorders at the University of Cincinnati in Cincinnati, OH.

Dr. Botsford's practice is focused on movement disorders, Parkinson disease, Huntington disease, atypical parkinsonism, essential tremor, ataxia, dystonia, spasticity, botulinum toxin injections, and deep brain stimulation. She is a member of the American Academy of Neurology, the National Ataxia Foundation, the Functional Neurological Disorder Society, and the International Parkinson and Movement Disorder Society.

On weekends, you may often find Dr. Botsford exploring small festivals in Madison or the surrounding communities with her husband and young son. She also enjoys the magnificent scenery when traveling. Having a midwestern palate, she shared that she is not very food-aspect adventurous, but the western Cape of South Africa was one of her favorites.
