Dr. Tyag Patel is fellowship-trained in orthopedic sports medicine and is practicing in orthopedic surgery. He earned his medical degree from the University of South Florida Morsani College of Medicine in Tampa FL. He completed his residency in orthopedic surgery at Marshall University in Huntington, WV and went on to complete his fellowship in orthopedic sports medicine at the University of New Mexico in Albuquerque, NM.

Dr. Patel's medical interests include shoulder, hip, and knee replacement including robotic assisted joint replacement, hip preservation, shoulder, hip, and knee arthritis, fractures and broken bones, arthroscopy, spinal trauma, rotator cuff injuries, carpal and cubital tunnel syndrome, trigger finger, ACL injuries, meniscal repair, patella instability, ankle injuries and disorders, repetitive motion injuries, stress fractures, strains and sprains, and sports related injuries.

When not working, Dr. Patel enjoys snowboarding, exercise, traveling with his wife, and reading. They favorite trip so far is Maui, Hawaii.
