Dr. Bucholz applies the latest technology to his work, including the use of image-guided surgery. His research interests include traumatic brain injury, brain tumors, surgery for epilepsy, and DBS (deep brain stimulation) for functional disease.
Dr. Bucholz is a professor in the Department of Surgery, Division of Neurosurgery at Saint Louis University School of Medicine.
He is a diplomate of the American Board of Neurological Surgery and is a member of numerous professional organizations, including: American Association of Neurological Surgeons; North American Skull Base Society; International Society for Computer-Aided Surgery; and the Society for Minimally Invasive Therapy. He is a fellow of the American College of Surgeons and a past treasurer of the Intraoperative Imaging Society.
