Peter Kane, PhD

Dr. Peter Kane is a licensed clinical psychologist who specializes in treating adults with obsessive compulsive disorder and anxiety disorders. He completed his undergraduate degree at Cornell University and both his Master's and PhD in clinical psychology from Vanderbilt University. He completed his clinical internship and fellowship in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at Northwestern University in Chicago, IL.

Dr. Kane's practice focuses on the use of empirically supported psychotherapies including cognitive behavior therapy (CBT) and exposure and response prevention (ERP) to improve the lives of adults with anxiety disorders and OCD. Dr. Kane also specializes in mindfulness therapies to help adults maintain the gains they have made in treatment and prevent relapse. He has co-led mindfulness based cognitive therapy (MBCT) groups for anxiety and depression and has maintained a personal mindfulness practice for years.

Dr. Kane has experience working on clinical trials of CBT and is board certified by the Academy of Cognitive Therapy. He received specialized training in the treatment of obsessive compulsive disorder by completing the International OCD Foundation's Behavior Therapy Training Institute. He is a member of the Association for Behavioral and Cognitive Therapies and the International OCD Foundation.

When not working Dr. Kane enjoys fly fishing, cycling, reading and watching the Boston Red Sox.
