Dr. Ahuja is an established and highly skilled physician with more than 10 years of experience in advanced minimally invasive, general, and bariatric surgery. He completed his general surgery internship, residency and trauma research fellowship at Washington Hospital Center (Washington, DC/Bethesda, MD) and was also fellowship-trained in advanced laparoscopic minimally invasive and bariatric surgery at the University of Pittsburgh (PA).

Dr. Ahuja has performed thousands of advanced complex gastrointestinal (GI) surgeries via minimally invasive techniques. He is well regarded in the southern Illinois community, earning numerous accolades for his quality and patient-centered care. Dr. Ahuja has previously Surgeon Champion of Year 2019 by Illinois State Quality Improvement Collaborative (ILQIC) for his quality improvement contributions. Dr. Ahuja has provided preceptorship/case observation opportunities for regional surgeons, medical students, residents, physician assistant students, dietitians and RNs.
