Dr. Nancy Friesen is a clinical psychologist who provides psychotherapy services and consultations for patients ages 18 and older. She specializes in anxiety; depression; high IQ; adult ADHD/ADD; therapy for medical providers; and supporting neurodivergent families.
Dr. Friesen works to help her patients thrive despite adversity, focusing on their individual gifts, uniqueness, and strengths. She seeks to increase individual acceptance, raise social awareness, and facilitate belonging to help reduce isolation and stress. She also hopes to change society's perceptions of mental health, specifically the lived experiences of our elders and autistic people.
Dr. Friesen offers numerous therapies such as mindfulness, meditation, dialectical behavioral therapy, psychodynamic and relational psychotherapeutic approach. Her research interests include depression, anxiety, postpartum maternal care, Parkinson's disease, movement disorders, and dementia.
Dr. Friesen is an assistant professor in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Neuroscience, Division of Psychology, at Saint Louis University School of Medicine.
