Dr. Mackenzie Steck is fellowship-trained in pulmonary disease and critical care medicine and cares for patients ages 18 and older throughout the St. Louis metropolitan area. She evaluates and treats a wide range of pulmonary conditions, including chronic cough, asthma, COPD, pulmonary infections, pulmonary embolism, lung cancer, interstitial lung diseases, and pleural disorders. To help diagnose and manage lung and breathing conditions, Dr. Steck utilizes advanced diagnostic tools and procedures, including pulmonary function testing, diagnostic bronchoscopy, including endobronchial ultrasound (EBUS), and critical care ultrasound.
Dr. Steck believes that understanding each patient's concerns is an essential part of providing effective care. Her goal is to improve her patients' daily lives through thoughtful, personalized management of chronic pulmonary disorders.
She is an assistant professor in the Department of Internal Medicine, Division of Pulmonary, Critical Care and Sleep Medicine at Saint Louis University School of Medicine. She is also a member of the American Thoracic Society and the American College of Chest Physicians.
Outside of medicine, Dr. Steck enjoys playing music, hiking, and traveling.
