Dr. Katherine Mathews is an obstetrician-gynecologist who specializes in pregnancy care for people who screen positive for depression and anxiety and who may have a history of psychiatric conditions or trauma. In addition to prenatal care, she provides postpartum care and well-woman care.

Regarding her patient care philosophy, Dr. Mathews says, "What matters most is getting to know you as a person, to learn about the challenges you have faced, and to support your goals for living your best life."

Dr. Mathews is passionate about higher education. She is a professor in the Department of Obstetrics, Gynecology, and Women's Health and associate dean of Health Systems Science at Saint Louis University School of Medicine.

In addition to clinical care and academics, Dr. Mathews is also involved in policy work to improve access to respectful care for low-income and underserved populations.
