James Drake, MD

Dr. James Drake is board certified by the American Board of Surgery. He earned his undergraduate degree in chemistry and psychology from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in Urbana, IL. He completed his medical degree at the University of Michigan Medical School in Ann Arbor, MI. He went on the complete his residency in general surgery at the University of Illinois College of Medicine in Peoria, IL.

Dr. Drake's medical interests and procedures include the following:

Hernia - complex, usual, parastomal, robotic

Lumps and bumps: abscesses, skin grafts, some wound, skin cancer, masses, Hidradenitis suppurativa

Gallbladder

Colonoscopy and EGD

Colon - cancer, diverticulitis, colostomy/ileostomy

Annorectal - hemorrhoids, fissures, fistulas, prolapse

Foregut - hiatal hernia, anti-reflex surgery, gastroparesis

Spleen

G tube or J tube placement

Lysis of adhesions, bowel resection

BKA or AKA

Benign or infectious breast

Adrenal conditions.

When he is not working, Dr. Drake enjoys spending time with his family and pets. He also enjoys cooking.
