Dr. Jafar Ohiokpehai is board-certified in both family medicine and geriatric medicine, with additional expertise in hospice and palliative medicine. He specializes in caring for older adults and sees patients ages 65 and above throughout the St. Louis metropolitan area.

Dr. Ohiokpehai provides comprehensive primary and preventive care for older adults, helping patients manage chronic conditions while supporting their overall health and quality of life. His areas of care include delirium, dementia, pain management, end-of-life care, memory screenings, behavioral health concerns, falls in older adults, polypharmacy, and counseling focused on the 5Ms of geriatrics: Multicomplexity, Mind, Mobility, Medication, and What Matters Most.

He is committed to delivering evidence-based, patient-centered care that addresses each individual's unique needs and goals. His mission is to provide comprehensive care grounded in the latest medical evidence. Dr. Ohiokpehai believes that conversations about geriatric care and end-of-life planning are often overlooked and finds fulfillment in helping patients and families navigate these important discussions while preparing for future healthcare needs. Dr. Ohiokpehai is an assistant professor in the Department of Internal Medicine, Division of Geriatric Medicine, at Saint Louis University School of Medicine.

He serves on the Saint Louis University Ethics Committee and the St. Louis Palliative Care Network. He is also a member of the American Geriatrics Society, the American Academy of Family Physicians, the Center to Advance Palliative Care, the American Academy of Hospice & Palliative Medicine, and the American College of Physicians.

Outside of medicine, Dr. Ohiokpehai enjoys making pizza at least once a week and has been skiing and snowboarding since he was two years old.
