Jacob McKinney, PA Radiology, Physician Assistant in Oklahoma City, OK

Jacob McKinney, PA-C, works alongside Dr. Scott de la Garza, one of Oklahoma's leading orthopedic surgeons, caring for adult patients with cervical, thoracic, and lumbar spine pathology. Jacob chose a career in medicine because it combines two of his greatest passions: serving others and lifelong learning. He was drawn to SSM Health Bone & Joint OSOI for its reputation as a leader in spine care and the opportunity to work alongside some of the state's top spine surgeons. Jacob believes effective patient care begins with a foundation of trust, empathy and open communication. He strives to build meaningful relationships with each patient by understanding their unique challenges and concerns.

As an Oklahoma native, Jacob began his educational journey at Oklahoma City Community College, where he earned an associate degree in chemistry before completing a bachelor's degree in biology at the University of Oklahoma. He then completed a Master of Health Science in Physician Assistant Studies from the University of Oklahoma School of Community Medicine in Tulsa, Okla. Before joining SSM Health, Jacob served as a physician assistant caring for neurosurgery patients in the Oklahoma City metro, gaining valuable experience in diagnosis and treatment of complex neurological conditions.

As a board-certified physician assistant, Jacob is passionate about helping patients recover from neck, spine and lower back pain. He is excited to team up with Dr. Scott de la Garza and join SSM Health Bone & Joint │OSOI.

When not caring for his patients, Jacob enjoys spending time with his wife and their kids, going to church and cheering on the Oklahoma Sooners and Oklahoma City Thunder.
