George Ghata, MD

Board-certified in family medicine and sports medicine, George Ghata, MD offers care for several musculoskeletal-related injuries and conditions and related pain management, as well as general illnesses, concussions and exercise-induced asthma in adult and adolescent patients. He also has extensive experience serving as a team physician for professional and collegiate sports organizations.

Dr. Ghata graduated with a bachelor's degree in biochemistry from the University of Oklahoma before pursuing training to become an emergency medical technician (EMT). He earned his medical degree, pursued family medicine residency and completed a prestigious sports medicine fellowship all through the University of Oklahoma. He is a member of the American Medical Association, American Medical Society for Sports Medicine, American Board of Family Physicians and several other key professional organizations.

In addition to caring for patients in emergency and in clinic settings, Dr. Ghata has served on the sidelines for more than two dozen athletic teams and major sporting events featuring men, women and adolescents. Some of these include the Oklahoma City Thunder, Oklahoma City Energy, Oklahoma City Dodgers, University of Oklahoma (including football, softball and more), Oklahoma Christian and many more. When not caring for patients, Dr. Ghata is also a competitive powerlifter. He holds a state record in bench press.
