Dr. Chintalapati Varma performs liver, kidney, and pancreas transplants. He has special interest in laparoscopic live donor nephrectomies, live donor liver transplantation, split liver transplantation, and pediatric liver transplantation. He has extensive experience with complex hepatobiliary surgical procedures that include major liver resections for benign and malignant tumors, and bile duct tumor resections.

Dr. Varma is an associate professor of surgery in the Department of Surgery, Division of Abdominal Transplant Surgery, at Saint Louis University School of Medicine.

He is a member of the American Society of Transplant Surgeons, the International Liver Transplant Society, and the Americas Hepto-Pancreato-Biliary Association.

Dr. Varma speaks English, Hindi, and Telugu. He is a pilot and enjoys flying fixed-wing, single-engine airplanes.
