Dr. Alfred Nelson is a gastroenterologist who treats adults patients ages 18 and older. He specializes in neurogastroenterology and motility, focusing on how the nervous system controls the muscles that move food through the digestive tract. He offers testing in GI motility, which includes esophageal and anorectal manometry as well as Bravo esophageal 24-hour pH testing.

Dr. Nelson sees himself as a forever student of the human body with the hopes of further expanding his understanding of it. He is open to constantly learning and evolving his capabilities to be able to best serve his patients and their needs.

Dr. Nelson is an assistant professor with the Division of Gastroenterology and Hepatology in the Department of Internal Medicine at Saint Louis University School of Medicine. He is also widely published in numerous gastroenterology journals.
