Abbas Toughanipour, MD

Abbas Tooughanipour, MD, is an thoracic surgeon, offering the latest surgical solutions for conditions of the chest cavity, including those affecting the heart, lungs and esophagus. He is board certified in general surgery and thoracic surgery.

Dr. Tooughanipour graduated from the University of Nevada with a bachelor's degree in biochemistry, before earning a medical degree from Emory University School of Medicine in Atlanta, Ga. He then finished an internship at the University of Tennessee Health Sciences Center in Chattanooga, Tenn. and a general surgery residency at WVU Medicine in Morgantown, W. Va. Additionally, Dr. Tooughanipour completed a fellowship in cardiothoracic surgery from the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center. He has over twenty years of experience serving Oklahomans in hospital and clinic settings, including at St. Anthony Hospital. Dr. Tooughanipour is passionate about sharing his knowledge in scientific publications. He is a member of the American Board of Thoracic Surgery and the American Medical Association.

Dr. Tooughanipour is interested in aortic root surgery, limb salvage surgery and robotic lung surgery.
